The sands in the hourglass

Flow to create time

Each grain is as important

As those which follow behind

I take this moment to reflect

On a feat that affected us all

When Africa took to the sky

The expanse between us grew small.

For All Abroad

We stopped in the parking lot

To get things to cook

He asked a question of me

With a curious look.

He asked if African Americans

Kept an African flag

For Africans abroad

Always had one in the bag

To my chagrin i had to reply

That there is indeed a rift

But for those who've forgotten
